FORT MYERS, FLORIDA (February 27, 2012) Pool Pros and sister company Aqua Illusions are known throughout Lee County, Florida for their strong support of education, children and the community at large so it is no surprise that they are at it again. On Thursday, March 1, 2012 at 12:00pm Pool Pros Inc. is hosting a complimentary, educational seminar to help clarify the legalities of the new regulations set forth by the 2010 Americans with disabilities Act (ADA) Title III. The seminar is particularly applicable to commercial pools and pools located within Condo complexes and home owners associations.

According to the Department of Justice, “Providing equal opportunity to people with disabilities is the fundamental principle of the Americans with Disabilities Act. People with disabilities were, for too long, excluded from participating in many recreational activities, including swimming. [Now] for the first time, the 2010 Standards set minimum requirements for making swimming pools, wading pools, and spas (pools) accessible.” These new regulations go into effect on March 15, 2012 and there still seems to be a great deal of confusion concerning the portion of the law that is related to Accessible Pools and Means of Entry and Exit.

“We believe in being part of the community and helping where we can,” says Pool Pros’ owner Joe Mitchell. “Pools are our expertise and we are proud to sponsor this seminar. Tony Gonzalez from Global Lift Corp will be our speaker and he is very adept at clarifying the nuances of these new regulations.”

Global Lift Corp, is an American owned and operated company, manufacturing in Mid Michigan. They are the leader in ADA compliant pool lifts and ensure that their products are laboratory tested, and installed, to meet ADA standards. The company also holds certification from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), an organization dedicated to developing and maintaining international standards for business, government and society that meet the needs of business and the broader needs of society.

The free seminar is being held at SCP located at 8030 Supply Drive, Fort Myers, Florida 33912. A complimentary lunch will be served during the information session. Professionals will be available to answer any questions concerning the new laws. Information from the US Department of Justice, and the ADA will also be on hand. Additionally, Global Lift Corp will have an actual Pool Chair Lift onsite for inspection.

Mitchell continued, “We hope those responsible for community pools and those who are interested in the rights of people with disabilities, will join us so as to be well informed and in compliance with the Department of Justice’s new ADA standards. Together we can get everyone swimming!”

To receive additional information on the seminar, on Thursday, March 1, 2012 at noon, at SCP: 8030 Supply Drive, Fort Myers, Florida, please call Pool Pros Inc. at (239) 277-7783.
